Ghana Medical Trust Fund donates equipment to nine hospitals

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) marked its first anniversary by delivering critical medical equipment to nine hospitals across Ghana. Under its ‘Day of Giving’ initiative, the Fund distributed diagnostic and emergency tools to facilities in multiple regions, including the Volta, Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western North, Savannah, and Upper West areas.

The donated equipment includes ultrasound machines, oxygen concentrators, an oxygen plant, X-ray machines, and printers. These items were provided to the Volta Regional Hospital, Sefwi-Wiawso Government Hospital, Bole Municipal Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Worawora Government Hospital, Wa Municipal Hospital, Kumasi South Hospital, Eastern Regional Hospital, and Northern Regional Hospital.

The intervention aims to reduce equipment gaps at the regional and district levels, allowing healthcare professionals to diagnose conditions more quickly and respond more effectively to emergencies. Hospital administrators, including the Medical Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, noted that the support would strengthen service delivery and improve patient care.
