Ghana MP Gideon Boako calls for inclusive economic recovery

Dr. Gideon Boako, Member of Parliament for Tano North and Deputy Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, has stated that Ghana's economic recovery is incomplete unless macroeconomic improvements translate into better living conditions for ordinary citizens.

Boako argued that economic performance should be measured by the lived experiences of graduates, traders, farmers, and households rather than strictly by figures such as inflation and fiscal balances. He emphasized that citizens prioritize access to jobs, functioning businesses, and infrastructure like good roads over government statistics.

He noted that "citizens do not vote for economic statistics. They vote for better lives," and stressed that the nation must move toward broad-based, inclusive growth to ensure sustainable stability provides a foundation for improved livelihoods.
