Ghana municipal leaders launch new school infrastructure projects
Municipal authorities in Ghana are initiating several projects to improve educational infrastructure and replace deteriorating school buildings.
In Suhum, Municipal Chief Executive Lydia Ohenewaa Sarah has commenced construction on a new three-unit classroom block for Suhum Oforikrom Ghanata JHS. The new facility will include a staff common room, a four-seater toilet, and a borehole to replace the existing structure, which had fallen into a state of disrepair that often disrupted learning during rainfall.
In Ga Central, Municipal Chief Executive Emmanuel Adotey Allotey commissioned a new Kindergarten block for the Anyaa Community Experimental Basic School. This project serves as the first phase of a planned six-unit block. Additionally, an 18-unit classroom block is currently under construction at Agape to alleviate congestion at St. Justine School, with further projects funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund awaiting completion.
