Ghana Narcotics Control Commission Boosts Youth Drug Awareness via Influencer Partnership and Documentary Praise

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in Ghana has partnered with popular digital creator Zion Felix to expand drug‑free messaging for young people. Deputy Director‑General Alexander Twum‑Barimah highlighted the role of social‑media influencers, stating, “Prevention is the cornerstone of our fight against drug abuse,” and urged Felix to use his platforms to share evidence‑based information.

Twum‑Barimah also commended JoyNews for its investigative documentary series “Deadly Doses II,” which exposes the growing drug crisis and the concealment of narcotics in everyday items consumed by students. He called for greater media collaboration to raise awareness and curb substance abuse across Ghanaian communities.
