Ghana National Fire Service denies unpaid rent allowance reports

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed social media reports alleging that it failed to pay the 2025 rent allowance to its personnel. Management clarified that the final tranche of the full 2025 payment was completed in April 2026.

Regarding the 2026 rent allowance, the Service stated that a committee has been established to oversee the process and complete the necessary mechanization. The GNFS reaffirmed its commitment to officer welfare and compensation, urging the public and its staff to disregard misinformation and rely on official communications.
