Ghana officials call for responsible journalism amid security concerns

Veteran Ghanaian journalist Paul Adom‑Otchere said a senior security official warned him not to present coverage of Deputy Attorney General Justice Srem‑Sai as a personal campaign, citing a photograph of the deputy in a lift. Adom‑Otchere apologized for the impression created and emphasized the need for careful framing when reporting on officials’ security matters.

Bono East Regional Minister Francis Owusu Antwi, speaking at the graduation of a media college in Techiman, urged journalists to be circumspect, uphold ethical standards and serve the public interest. He highlighted the watchdog role of the press in promoting transparency and good governance.
