The Minority Caucus in Ghana’s Parliament has accused the Majority of wasting approximately 75% of an emergency five-day recall period. As of the third day of the sitting, the House has yet to consider key government business, including the National Petroleum Authority Bill and the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Amendment Bill.

Minority MP Dr. Mahama Tiah Abdul Kabiru stated that the recall disrupted members' ability to engage with constituents during their recess. He noted that the Minority reluctantly agreed to the sitting under the understanding that proceedings would be limited to urgent matters, including a motion to investigate alleged losses at the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).

In response, First Deputy Majority Whip Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe defended the delay, attributing the scheduling issues to the Appointments Committee's vetting of ministers and judges. She argued that these approvals are necessary for nominees to return to their ministries and finalize budgets.
