Ghana Parliament to open first Parliamentary Museum in September

The Parliament of Ghana will officially open its first Parliamentary Museum to the public on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Located within the parliamentary precincts, the museum is a legacy project of Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban S. K. Bagbin, intended to increase public engagement and understanding of the nation’s legislative history.

The museum’s collection includes historical photographs, documents, records of past proceedings, and memorabilia from former Speakers. It also features archival materials regarding the Legislative Council and Ghana’s constitutional milestones, alongside ceremonial items and interactive multimedia exhibits detailing the law-making process.

Designed for students, researchers, tourists, and international partners, the facility aims to preserve institutional memory and showcase Ghana’s democratic heritage. The museum will be open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Visitors must book appointments through the official Parliament website.
