Ghana police arrest two suspects in Daboya lynching case

The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the alleged lynching of a young man in Daboya, located in the North Gonja District of Ghana’s Savannah Region. The suspects, identified as 25-year-old carpenter Adjei Abdulai and 22-year-old student Issah Mahama, are currently in police custody.

Preliminary investigations suggest the victim, identified as Yibonwura, was severely assaulted and died from his injuries following accusations of stealing sheanuts. The incident gained public attention after video footage of the attack circulated on social media.

Police are currently conducting a manhunt for a third suspect who remains at large. Investigators are working to establish the full circumstances of the assault and identify all other individuals involved to ensure they are brought to justice.
