Ghana Police ban concrete mixer trucks in Accra and Tema
The Ghana Police Service has imposed a three-day ban on concrete mixer truck operations in Accra and Tema, effective from Friday, August 28, to Sunday, August 30, 2026.
The directive follows a stakeholder meeting led by Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno, conducted under the auspices of the National Security Secretariat. The decision addresses concerns regarding the frequent spillage of concrete and other materials onto public roads, which authorities say obstructs traffic, creates hazards for motorists and pedestrians, and damages road infrastructure.
The temporary suspension is intended to allow authorities to clear and clean road surfaces affected by accumulated debris and hardened concrete. The police have warned that any vehicle found violating the directive will face enforcement action in accordance with the law.
