Ghana Police dismiss 10 cases of alleged missing genitalia

Police in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of Ghana have dismissed ten reported cases of suspected missing genitalia as false. The allegations, which began in Wassa Dunkwa on October 17, 2026, involved men claiming their genitalia vanished after physical contact with strangers.

Medical examinations ordered by the Asankragwa Divisional Police Command confirmed that all ten complainants were medically normal and intact. Chief Superintendent Vitus Napen stated that preliminary investigations suggest panic, anxiety, and misinformation were the primary drivers of the scare.

The situation led to violence in Breman, where a mob attacked and vandalized a police patrol vehicle while officers attempted to rescue a suspect accused of causing a man's genitalia to disappear. Police have warned that individuals responsible for spreading false news or attacking security personnel will face prosecution.
