Ghana Police seek suspects in fatal shooting of Kussa Shea Bliss CEO
The Chief Executive Officer of Kussa Shea Bliss, Irene Atubiga, and her uncle, George Atubiga, were reportedly shot dead during a dispute over an unpaid debt at NTHC Estate, Sakumono.
Preliminary investigations by the Ghana Police Service suggest the incident stemmed from a financial disagreement. George Atubiga had allegedly borrowed GH¢500,000 from a man identified as Samuel Christopher Osei Anto. On the morning of October 30, Anto and a 47-year-old woman, Beatrice Mumuni, reportedly visited the residence to demand repayment.
Police state that a misunderstanding escalated into a fatal shooting, during which Anto allegedly used a firearm to kill both victims before fleeing. Authorities have arrested Beatrice Mumuni in connection with the case, but Anto remains at large. The Ghana Police Service has offered a GH¢100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the principal suspect.
Irene Atubiga, a mother of two, previously worked in the banking sector for over a decade before founding Kussa Shea Bliss, a skincare brand focused on ethically sourced shea butter from Northern Ghana.
