Ghana President Mahama receives credentials from seven foreign envoys

President John Dramani Mahama received the letters of credence of seven foreign ambassadors at the Presidency in Accra. The envoys included Andrei Ordash (Russia), Ronald Micallef (Malta), Michal Cygan (Poland), Bambang Suharto (Indonesia), Isbeth Lisabeth Quiel Murcia (Panama), Armen Sargsyan (Armenia) and Selestine Gervas Kakele (Tanzania). During the ceremony Mahama highlighted Ghana’s ongoing economic transformation programme and urged the diplomats to promote investment in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, energy, infrastructure, technology, logistics, tourism, healthcare and education. He noted that Ghana “offers strategic access to a continental market of more than 1.4 billion people” as the host of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, and affirmed the country’s commitment to multilateral cooperation despite security challenges in the Sahel.
