Ghana President Mahama’s third‑term debate dismissed as NPP propaganda

Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the discussion about President John Dramani Mahama seeking a third term is political propaganda by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He emphasized that Mahama has repeatedly stated he will not run for another term, citing remarks made on an international platform in Singapore.

Ofosu noted that a Supreme Court case is examining Ghana’s constitutional provisions on presidential term limits, but the government believes the law is already clear. He added there is no indication Mahama has changed his position.
