Ghana Pursues Major Trade Partnerships with India and Egypt
Ghana and India have announced plans to expand bilateral trade to $6 billion within the next decade. The agreement targets sectors such as agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, automotive and electronics assembly, as well as infrastructure, renewable energy and digital innovation. Indian firms are expected to invest in modernising Ghana’s agricultural value chains, joint cocoa‑processing ventures and setting up manufacturing plants to serve African markets.
Meanwhile, Ghana is seeking a stronger economic partnership with Egypt ahead of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027. Ghanaian officials highlighted the contributions of Egyptian companies to local industry, job creation and skills development, and expressed interest in expanding private‑sector collaboration, training programmes and joint initiatives on issues such as historical justice and cultural heritage.
