Ghana Secures Front‑of‑Jersey Sponsorship on Sunderland AFC for 2026/27 Season

Ghana’s Parliament Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, announced a private‑sector‑led “Visit Ghana” campaign that will place the slogan on the front of Sunderland AFC’s Premier League jerseys for the 2026/27 season. The deal is still being finalised, will be funded entirely by private investors, and is not a public‑money initiative.

The project has the backing of the Ghana Football Association, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Ministry of Finance. If completed, Ghana would become the first African nation to secure a front‑of‑shirt sponsorship with an English top‑flight club, offering global exposure through match broadcasts and digital platforms. No financial terms have been disclosed.

The initiative follows earlier engagements, including a visit by Sunderland chairman Kyril Louis‑Dreyfus to Ghana’s Parliament and prior discussions at the 37th sitting of Parliament.
