Ghana Standards Authority reports 18% revenue growth in 2025

The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) reported a revenue of GH¢228 million for 2025, representing an 18 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Director-General Professor George Agyei announced these results during the Authority’s Annual Stakeholders’ Meeting in Accra, attributing the growth to expanded regulatory activities and disciplined financial management.

Key operational achievements included the verification of 242,764 weights, measures, and weighing instruments, a 6 per cent year-on-year increase. The GSA also calibrated 26,091 industrial instruments, exceeding its annual target by 25 per cent. Laboratory testing activity rose significantly, with 28,375 product samples examined—a 22 per cent increase over 2024 and 31 per cent above the annual target.

In terms of manufacturing support, the GSA issued 1,259 certificates to local producers, marking a 12 per cent improvement. While financial performance and service delivery saw growth, Professor Agyei noted that the Authority completed only 40 per cent of its target for developing new standards, identifying this as a priority area for future improvement.
