Ghana Supreme Court rejects Kojo Oppong Nkrumah review bid
The Supreme Court of Ghana has unanimously dismissed an application by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah to review an earlier ruling. The former Information Minister and Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi had sought to overturn a decision that allowed selected cases to be heard during the legal vacation.
Oppong Nkrumah had previously applied for an interlocutory injunction to halt these proceedings, a bid that was also rejected. During the hearing on September 2, 2026, counsel for Oppong Nkrumah requested an adjournment due to the late service of documents from the Attorney-General’s Department, but the three-member panel declined the request and proceeded with the hearing.
The dismissal leaves the original ruling in force, preventing Oppong Nkrumah from blocking the scheduled court proceedings. The former cabinet member remains a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party following the December 2024 general election.
