Ghana's U‑17 women's national team, known as the Black Maidens, secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA U‑17 Women's World Cup in Morocco by winning a penalty shootout 7‑6 against Senegal. The two‑leg tie ended 1‑1 on aggregate, forcing the decider at Accra Sports Stadium where goalkeeper Jessica Appiah Asamoah converted the decisive penalty.

The victory marks Ghana's first appearance at the tournament since 2018. Coach Joe Nana Adarkwa warned that squad places are not guaranteed and that further scouting will determine the final roster. Goalkeeper Belinda Maku Aklie was highlighted her role in the qualification, having also helped the U‑20 side reach the 2026 U‑20 Women's World Cup.

Ghana joins fellow African qualifiers Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia and hosts Morocco for the 24‑team tournament scheduled for 17 October–7 November 2026. The Black Maidens will compete in Group C against Canada, Brazil and Norway.
