Ghana U-20 Draws 1-1 with Burkina Faso at WAFU B Championship

Ghana's Black Satellites were held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso in their second Group B match of the 2026 WAFU B U‑20 Championship in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire. After an opening 4‑2 loss to Nigeria, the equaliser came from Joseph Badu, keeping Ghana on one point from two games and third in the group. Coach Maxwell Konadu said an early red card forced a tactical shift from a 4‑3‑3 to a 3‑5‑1 formation, but the side still created several chances. The result makes a win over Togo essential to finish the tournament positively. Although Ghana has already secured automatic qualification for the 2027 CAF U‑20 Africa Cup of Nations as hosts, the regional competition is being used to assess players, build cohesion and fine‑tune tactics ahead of the continental finals.
