Ghanaian clubs prepare for CAF continental competitions

Ghanaian football clubs are preparing for upcoming CAF continental competitions. Medeama SC, following their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League victory, will compete in the CAF Champions League. Board Chairman Dr Toni Aubynn stated the club is targeting the 2026/27 title rather than just progressing through the tournament. Medeama is set to face Congolese side TP Mazembe in the preliminary round later this month.

Separately, Nations FC is preparing for its first African campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup. After winning the MTN FA Cup, the club was drawn against Mali's FC Diarra in the preliminary round. CEO Kennedy Boakye-Ansah expressed confidence ahead of the first leg in Bamako scheduled for September, noting that the club aims to make a bold statement despite their recent relegation to Division One.
