Ghanaian communities host free breast cancer screening initiatives

Free breast cancer screening exercises were recently conducted in different regions of Ghana to promote early detection and health awareness.

In the Bono East Region, nearly 100 female police officers at the Techiman Divisional Police Command underwent screening. The initiative, organized by the Ellen White Sustainable Foundation in partnership with the Awat Foundation and the Police Ladies Association, aimed to provide medical services directly to officers whose demanding work schedules often prevent hospital visits.

In the Ga South Municipality, a screening exercise in Ashalaja, organized by Hon. Emmanuel Nii Commey and Sonotec Medical and Diagnostic Centre, screened 69 individuals. During this exercise, medical officials identified one suspected case of breast cancer. Organizers and medical professionals emphasized the importance of regular check-ups to ensure timely treatment and improve health outcomes.
