Ghanaian courts issue prison sentences in robbery and theft cases

Two separate criminal cases in Ghana have resulted in custodial sentences. In Accra, the Circuit Court 2 sentenced 28-year-old Thomas Agambaa, also known as Rasta, to 15 years in prison. Agambaa was convicted of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery involving his former employer, a woman he had previously worked for as a driver.

In a separate incident, the Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court sentenced 35-year-old Anani Bakar to four weeks in prison. Bakar pleaded guilty to stealing a bundle of plantains from a farm in Nuaso Newtown. The theft was witnessed by a local resident, leading to Bakar's detention by nearby citizens and subsequent arrest by the Nuaso Police.
