Ghanaian football officials undergo intensive training and coaching programmes
Premier League match officials have commenced a four-day intensive training programme at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. Running from September 7 to September 10, 2026, the course involves 28 Premier League referees and assistant referees, alongside various FIFA and support officials. The training focuses on technical knowledge, decision-making, and recent amendments to the Laws of the Game, including offside interpretation, handball decisions, and tactical foul management.
In a separate development, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a Licence D Coaching Course scheduled for November 23 to 30, 2026, in the Western Region. Held at Bompeh Senior High School in Sekondi-Takoradi, the programme aims to strengthen grassroots football. The course will include theoretical and practical sessions, with a specific emphasis on GFA/FIFA Safeguarding training to ensure the welfare and protection of young players. The initiative will be overseen by GFA Technical Director Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah and Head of Coach Education Dr. Prosper Nartey.
