Ghanaian footballers join CD Tondela and FC Porto

Two Ghanaian footballers have completed moves to Portuguese clubs.

Henry Addo, a 23-year-old forward, has joined CD Tondela on a permanent two-year contract from Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv. Addo, who will wear the number 10 shirt, brings experience from leagues in Israel, Slovakia, and Serbia. During his tenure at Maccabi Tel Aviv, he contributed to multiple domestic titles and appeared in the UEFA Europa League.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old forward Gideon Otabil has joined FC Porto on loan from Ghanaian third-tier side Maverick SC. Otabil will initially develop with Porto’s Under-19 team. The agreement includes an option for FC Porto to make the transfer permanent at the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.
