Ghanaian midfielders Obed Asare and Derrick Gyimah join Italian Serie D clubs

Defensive midfielder Obed Asare, 22, moved from Serie D side Ferrandina to fellow Group H club Fasano on a free transfer, signing a contract through June 2027. The Ghana‑born player, who made 30 league appearances and featured in the Coppa Italia Serie D last season, will continue his development in Italy’s fourth tier.

Winger Derrick Gyimah, 23, also joined an Italian Serie D team, completing a free transfer from Cuneo to Fossano on 31 July 2026. Gyimah, a product of Torino’s youth system, has accumulated over 100 Serie D matches, scoring 12 goals and providing several assists across several clubs. Both transfers were announced without a fee and reflect the ongoing presence of Ghanaian talent in Italy’s lower leagues.
