Ghanaian Minister calls for improved athlete mobility and Russian cooperation

Ghana’s Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, has advocated for easier cross-border movement for African athletes and increased cooperation with Russia to enhance training opportunities for the continent's youth.

Speaking at the 14th International Sports Forum in Krasnoyarsk, Adams emphasized that closer sporting ties could help Africa realize its athletic potential. He noted that Africa is working toward greater integration, aiming for a system where travel does not require visas, effectively treating the continent as a single nation of 1.6 billion people.

Adams highlighted that over 60% of Africa's population is under the age of 25. He expressed interest in exploiting technical training areas through partnerships with Russia to better support this large youthful demographic.
