Ghanaian music veterans reflect on career legacies

Prominent figures in the Ghanaian music industry are reflecting on their long-standing contributions to the nation's rich musical heritage.

Producer and multi-talent Morris Babyface is recognized as a key architect behind many of Ghana's most memorable hits. His extensive work spans highlife, hiplife, and gospel, having worked with influential artists such as Sonnie Achiba, Kojo Antwi, and Okomfour Kwadee. Notably, his collaboration with Esther Smith is cited as one of the most successful singer-producer partnerships in Ghanaian gospel history.

Highlife musician Ofori Amponsah, marking 27 years in the industry, expressed that he has given his best to his craft. In a recent interview, the ‘Emmanuella’ hitmaker discussed his career longevity and his belief that he deserves to be ranked among the top five musicians in Ghana, citing his extensive catalogue and collaborations with legends like the late Daddy Lumba.
