Ghanaian passport holders gain visa-free travel to three nations
Ghanaian passport holders can now travel to the Maldives, Zambia, and Antigua and Barbuda without obtaining entry visas. This follows the ratification and entry into force of visa waiver agreements announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 8, 2026.
The agreements apply to holders of Ordinary, Service, and Diplomatic passports. Under the new arrangements, travelers to the Maldives and Zambia are permitted to stay for a maximum of 30 days, while those traveling to Antigua and Barbuda can stay for up to 90 days.
The Ministry cautioned that visa-free access does not exempt travelers from complying with the specific immigration and entry requirements of the destination countries. Individuals intending to work, study, or reside in these nations must still obtain the necessary permits or specific authorizations from the relevant authorities.
