Ghanaian players join Spanish second-division clubs
Two Ghanaian footballers have completed moves to clubs in Spain’s second division.
Defender Nicholas Opoku has signed a two-year contract with UD Las Palmas. The 28-year-old expressed his ambition to help the club achieve promotion to La Liga, noting that the club's structure and seriousness influenced his decision to join. Opoku is expected to make his debut for the Canary Islands side against Ceuta.
Midfielder Mawuli Mensah has joined AD Ceuta on a free transfer from Real Zaragoza. The 22-year-old has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2028. Mensah, who was born in Accra, brings experience from various Spanish divisions, including 13 appearances in LaLiga2.
