Ghanaian NPP members intensify political campaigning and policy defenses

Members and aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are intensifying their political messaging and internal campaigning in Ghana. Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, an aspirant for the NPP National Organiser position, has positioned the NPP as a superior alternative to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), citing development, infrastructure, and economic management as key differentiators. He urged party members to unite behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2028 general elections.

In other developments, the NPP has defended its record on rural telephony, disputing claims of neglect. The party stated that the Ghana Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion Project, supported by a €155 million facility from China EXIM Bank, successfully expanded connectivity to underserved communities.

Internal party dynamics are also a focus, with General Secretary hopeful Sylvester Tetteh warning delegates that public endorsements do not guarantee victory in upcoming national executive elections. Additionally, NPP National Communications Member Kofi Tonto criticized the current NDC administration for failing to deliver on promised education reforms, specifically citing challenges with the 2026 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
