Ghanaian top farmers to receive sponsored study trips to Italy

Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has announced that the winners of the 2026 Overall National Best Farmer and National Best Poultry Farmer awards will receive fully sponsored seven-day study trips to Italy.

As part of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebrations, Mehak Company Limited will sponsor the Overall National Best Farmer and a spouse or partner. This trip aims to provide exposure to modern European agricultural technology, sustainable value chains, and food processing innovations. Separately, Covenant Farms will sponsor the National Best Poultry Farmer for a technical benchmarking visit focused on modern poultry production and sustainable systems.

Minister for MoFA Eric Opoku stated that these packages are designed to expose farmers to modern technologies and smart agricultural practices. The Ministry has coordinated with the Embassy of Italy to facilitate the travel arrangements, intending to support agricultural modernization within Ghana.
