Ghanaian traditional leaders call for infrastructure and education investment
Traditional leaders in Ghana are calling for the completion of ongoing infrastructure and education projects to improve living conditions and economic growth.
In the Ashanti Region, authorities and stakeholders inspected health, education, and sanitation projects in the Obuasi East and Obuasi Municipal assemblies. Nana Kitikyie Apenteng Bosompim II, the Adansi Dompoase Krontihene, noted that local senior high schools face infrastructure challenges and suggested that government interventions alone may not suffice. He commended AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Obuasi Mine for its development initiatives. Additionally, the Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi, Faustilove Appiah Kannin, discussed plans with AGA to construct a road linking Agyemang Gas to Nhyiaso to improve connectivity.
In the Eastern Region, the Paramount Chief of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite II, urged the government to complete existing road and classroom projects. Speaking during the 133rd Ngmayem Festival, he emphasized that reliable roads are essential for the movement of goods, services, and access to healthcare. He also stressed that continued investment in classroom infrastructure is vital for the nation's future generations.
