Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu sent a goodwill message ahead of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), urging candidates to stay calm, be confident and uphold academic integrity. He said, "As students across the country prepare to write the BECE tomorrow, I wish you all the very best. Stay calm, be confident, and give your best in every paper." The exam, organised by the West African Examinations Council, began on May 4 and will run until May 11, with 620,141 candidates from 20,395 schools taking part nationwide, while authorities stepped up anti‑malpractice vigilance.
