Ghana's EOCO demands nine years of records from Baffour Awuah's law firm
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has ordered the law firm Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners to submit nine years of financial and operational records by November 6, 2026. The demand covers audited financial statements, tax records, and bank statements from 2017 to 2025.
The request is part of an ongoing investigation into Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South. The MP is currently facing criminal charges related to a debt settlement involving the state-owned SIC Life Savings and Loans.
EOCO is investigating allegations of criminal conspiracy, money laundering, tax offences, and causing financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans. The requested documentation includes evidence of corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax payments made to the Ghana Revenue Authority, as well as details regarding the firm's operating permits and employee lists.
