Ghana's former President Mahama lauds US‑Ghana partnership on America's 250th anniversary

Former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama issued a congratulatory message to the United States on the occasion of its 250th Independence anniversary. In the statement, Mahama highlighted the long‑standing friendship between Ghana and the United States, noting cooperation on democracy, human rights, trade, infrastructure and education.

He pointed to specific programmes such as Power Africa, the African Growth and Opportunity Act, and joint security initiatives that have helped Ghana’s development and regional stability. Mahama also emphasized cultural and educational exchanges, including Fulbright scholarships, and called for deeper collaboration on climate change, pandemic response and economic inequality. The message was addressed to President Donald J. Trump and reaffirmed Ghana’s support for continued US engagement in Africa.
