Ghana's Growth to 4.7% in 2027, Inflation 12.8%, Fitch Says

Fitch Solutions projects Ghana’s headline inflation to average 12.8% in 2027, up from about 6% in 2026, which could erode household purchasing power and private consumption. The firm also forecasts real economic growth to slow to 4.7% in 2027 from 5.7% in 2026, citing weaker agricultural output, stagnant oil and cocoa production, and rising fiscal pressures as debt‑service obligations increase. A tighter‑than‑expected U.S. Federal Reserve stance could depress global gold prices, further pressuring the Ghanaian cedi and export earnings. Fitch notes that stronger domestic demand could offset some risks, but the outlook remains downside‑biased.
