Ghana's National Youth Authority and French Embassy deepen partnership for youth skills and inclusion

The National Youth Authority (NYA) of Ghana, led by Chief Executive Officer Osman Abdulai Ayariga, met with French Ambassador Diarra Dimé‑Labille at the French Embassy in Accra. Both sides reaffirmed a strategic partnership aimed at expanding youth empowerment, skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship and social inclusion.

The cooperation will build on Ghana’s National Apprenticeship Programme, a flagship initiative that equips young Ghanaians with industry‑relevant skills. The NYA announced that 5‑10 % of apprenticeship slots are reserved for persons with disabilities, underscoring a commitment to inclusive development. France expressed interest in moving from traditional aid to strategic investment, seeking joint technical‑training projects, knowledge exchange and opportunities for Ghanaian youth to gain international exposure.

The partnership is intended to create a globally competitive youth workforce and strengthen bilateral ties between Ghana and France.
