Ghana's NCCE Urges Student Leaders to Combat Corruption

The Volta Regional Director of Ghana's National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Kenneth Kponor, convened a dialogue with student leaders from the University of Health and Allied Sciences and Ho Technical University. He called on the youth to demonstrate patriotism, lead anti‑corruption efforts within their institutions, and report any red‑flag activities, arguing that fighting corruption must begin at the school level to shape future leaders.

Eric Oduro Opoku, Principal Registrar of the Volta Regional Office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), reinforced the message, urging discipline and highlighting common corrupt practices such as bribery, misuse of state resources, and conflicts of interest. Both officials emphasized that a generation that rejects corruption is essential for democratic governance and sustainable development in Ghana.
