Ghana's NDC confronts fake galamsey claims and warns internal saboteurs

National Democratic Congress (NDC) organiser Joseph Yamin denied media reports linking him to illegal small‑scale mining, calling the press release and Attorney General's letter “fake” and unauthenticated. He said the contact details on the document were untraceable and that the Small‑Scale Miners Association also disowned it, insisting no government agency had formally invited him for questioning.

NDC member James Agbey warned that some government appointees are undermining President John Mahama’s agenda, describing them as “internal saboteurs.” Citing a Ghana Centre for Democratic Development report, Agbey said Mahama enjoys high approval but that certain ministers and agency heads are acting in personal interest, threatening the administration’s anti‑corruption and economic reforms.
