Ghana's NPP hopeful John Boadu launches nationwide tour ahead of 2028 elections

John Boadu, aspiring national chairman of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP), began a nationwide engagement tour on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The tour starts in the Oti Region and will move through the northern sector of the country, bringing him into contact with regional executives, constituency executives, party wings, the Tertiary Students Confederacy Network (TESCON) and media representatives.

During the visits Boadu will congratulate newly elected constituency executives, listen to their concerns and outline his vision for rebuilding the party. He is stressing unity, discipline, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation as essential for the NPP to regain power in the 2028 general elections. The campaign also urges party members to rally behind the party’s 2028 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and to secure a parliamentary majority.

The tour is part of the NPP’s internal preparations ahead of the national executive elections and the broader 2028 presidential and parliamentary contests.
