Ghandour Hospital destroyed by Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon

Israeli airstrikes have completely destroyed Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health and the Beirut Doctors Syndicate condemned the strike, describing it as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and a war crime.

The hospital had been out of service for approximately two months prior to the attack. While the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported the facility was totally destroyed, the Israeli military stated it was targeting a Hezbollah command center that had been established within a building previously used as a hospital.

According to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 17 hospitals have sustained damage due to airstrikes since March 2, 2026. The ministry also reported that 410 healthcare workers have been killed in Lebanon during this period. Relief agencies have provided preliminary casualty figures for the recent strikes in the Nabatieh district, citing four fatalities and more than twenty wounded individuals.
