Ghaziabad police arrest former IB official in extortion case

Ghaziabad police have arrested three individuals, including a former Joint Deputy Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), in connection with an extortion racket. The group is accused of demanding 15 crore rupees from a firm owner and successfully collecting 55 lakh rupees.

Investigations reveal that the former IB official, who retired in 2022, allegedly used his professional experience and connections to orchestrate the criminal scheme. Authorities are currently examining the suspects' mobile phones, financial transactions, and contacts to determine the full extent of the network and whether they have been involved in similar incidents previously.
