Ghaziabad Psychiatrist Dr Himika Agrawal Dies by Suicide

A 40‑year‑old psychiatrist, Dr Himika Agrawal, was found dead after jumping from the fifth floor of her apartment in Officers City‑2 Society, Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on August 2, 2026. Police said she died from injuries sustained in the fall and are investigating the circumstances; no suicide note has been recovered.

Family members said the doctor had been suffering from depression and emotional distress since her divorce about a year and a half earlier. Her father, Dr Rakesh Chandra Agrawal, a noted psychiatrist in Ghaziabad, said the separation had taken a severe toll on her mental health. Residents and by‑standers rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
