Ghisonaccia villa explosion triggers anti-terrorism probe

An explosion destroyed a villa in Ghisonaccia, Corsica, during the night of Friday, September 25, to Saturday, September 26, 2026. The residence, which belonged to a retired couple living on mainland France and had recently been put up for sale, was partially or fully destroyed.

The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) has opened an investigation into criminal conspiracy for the preparation of a terrorist act. Investigators reportedly found the inscription ‘FLNC 22/10’ at the scene, referencing the Corsican National Liberation Front.

Multiple agencies, including the SDAT and gendarmerie research sections from Bastia and Ajaccio, are conducting the investigation. Authorities are currently examining explosive traces, securing the site, and reviewing surveillance footage to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
