Ghost Gang members identified in Greek jewelry thefts

Police authorities in Chalkida have identified two foreign women as members of the international criminal organization known as the ‘Ghost Gang’. The group is linked to high-value thefts from jewelry stores in Chalkida, Euboea, and Giannitsa, Pella.

In Chalkida, the suspects allegedly entered a jewelry store posing as customers and used disguises to alter their facial features. While staff were distracted, they stole jewelry valued at 124,136 euros. A similar method was used in Giannitsa, resulting in the theft of 20,000 euros worth of valuables. The total value of the stolen items exceeds 144,000 euros.

The organization earned its name through sophisticated evasion tactics, including changing physical appearances, switching vehicles and phone connections, and avoiding hotel registration during arrival and departure. The suspects, who are currently detained in a Spanish correctional facility, reportedly used a rental car with Italian license plates to facilitate their escape. Investigations are ongoing to determine if the women are involved in further criminal activities.
