Ghost in the Cell achieves 100% Rotten Tomatoes score in US release

Joko Anwar’s horror-comedy film, ‘Ghost in the Cell’, has achieved a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 22 critic reviews following its limited release in United States theaters on October 2, 2026.

The film previously won Best Picture in the Horror Competition category at Fantastic Fest 2026 in Austin, Texas. It also held its international premiere through the Forum program at Berlinale 2026 in Germany.

Set within a high-security prison, the story follows Dimas, a journalist accused of murdering his superior. The plot involves a series of mysterious murders and a supernatural predator that stalks inmates, forcing them to navigate both gang violence and spectral threats. The film is described as a blend of martial arts, supernatural terror, and dark comedy, featuring a cast that includes Abimana Aryasatya, Endy Arfian, and Bront Palarae.
