Ghost in the Cell wins Best Picture at Fantastic Fest

The Indonesian film ‘Ghost in the Cell’, directed by Joko Anwar, has won the Best Picture award in the Horror Competition category at Fantastic Fest 2026 in Austin, Texas.

Produced by Come and See Pictures, the film follows prisoners fighting for survival against a mysterious invisible killer. It blends horror, action, and dark comedy with social commentary. The film features actors such as Abimana Aryasatya, Endy Arfian, Bront Palarae, Morgan Oey, and Lukman Sardi.

Following its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, ‘Ghost in the Cell’ has secured distribution rights in 148 countries. It is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on October 2, 2026, distributed by Well Go USA.
