Ghost in the Shell anime episode 5 end card lauded as fans await new soundtrack release

The fifth episode of the current Ghost in the Shell TV anime featured a special end‑card illustrated by acclaimed Japanese animator Mahiro Maeda. The artwork, released shortly after the episode aired, was praised on social media for its detailed cyber‑punk aesthetic, with fans calling it “incredibly cool” and “the best end card yet.” The episode also revealed new cast members and comments from guest voice actors.

Separately, the series’ original soundtrack has been detailed. Composers Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi and Yuki Kanesaka will provide the music for a two‑disc CD and vinyl release scheduled for 9 September 2026. First‑press editions include a special paper sleeve with foil stamping, and the album jacket features a new illustration by tarou2 of Science Saru. The release will be available on major streaming platforms and includes a lengthy talk session with the three producers.
