Gia Binh International Airport project begins land clearance in Bac Ninh
Residents in Tan Lang Village, Luong Tai Commune, Bac Ninh Province, have begun demolishing homes and relocating to temporary housing to make way for the Gia Binh International Airport project.
The airport is a significant national project spanning approximately 363.5 hectares across several communes, including Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Nhan Thang, and Lam Thao. Designed to meet 4E standards, the facility will serve civil aviation, special flights, and national defense and security missions. The project aims for a capacity of 1 million passengers annually by 2030 and 3 million by 2050, with expectations to reduce congestion at Noi Bai International Airport and boost regional logistics and trade.
Local youth volunteers and police forces have been actively assisting families with the relocation process, helping move heavy furniture and household goods to temporary residences to facilitate rapid land clearance.
